SCOTLAND'S HOGMANAY IN PICTURES
(sent in by Max Triola)
FROM fire to fireworks, cheers to beers, there is no better place to experience
Hogmanay (or New Year's Eve) than in Scotland. Have a look for yourself!
http://heritage.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=2464972005
excerpts from the website:
Each year Edinburgh celebrates Hogmanay with a four-day programme of festivities.
It kicks off Thursday night with the historic Torchlight Procession.
Some 15,000 people are expected to take part in this popular event,
which will feature the Lerwick Up Helly AA Vikings and The Clann.
The crowds will move in procession from Parliament Square on the Royal Mile
for a finale of music, fireworks and the burning of a 33ft Viking Longship atop Calton Hill.
Scottish band Texas will have a challenge on their hands when they headline this year's Concert in the Gardens, a recent tradition of music and fireworks in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh.
